Welcome to Bruiser’s Training Tip of the Week!
Today, we’re diving into the essentials of vehicle combat. This brief chat will focus on one crucial aspect: getting your gun into the fight.
Getting Your Gun Into the Fight
The first thing to address is ensuring your firearm is ready for action. If you carry your firearm in the appendix position, you’ll find it easier to access. Here’s how to manage it effectively:
- Clear Your Garment: Ensure your jacket or shirt is untucked and out of the way. This will prevent any delays or obstructions when drawing your firearm.
- Draw Your Firearm: When drawing your firearm, be mindful of potential obstacles inside your vehicle. Avoid hitting the steering wheel or pillars, as these can impede your draw.
- Manage the Windscreen: When pushing your firearm forward, be cautious of the windscreen, as it can obscure your vision before you even start shooting.
Aim Outside the Vehicle
To effectively engage a target outside your vehicle:
- Turn Your Shoulders: To get on target, you’ll need to turn your shoulders. This helps you align your aim without unnecessary movements.
- Seat Belt Restrictions: When turning to your right, be aware of your seat belt, as it may restrict your movement. Adjust accordingly to ensure a smooth draw.
Practical Exercise
For today’s exercise, we have one target on the driver’s side, where most attacks are likely to occur. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Draw Your Firearm: From the appendix position.
- Engage the Target Twice: Aim carefully and fire two shots at the target.
